Sewer Line Replacement

Price: $6,000 Time: 5 days Client: Robert Ellis Service: Commercial
Two plumbers repairing a buried sewer pipe

Overview

Robert manages a mixed-use building in the Bronx where ground-floor drains were backing up every few weeks. Jetting bought days, not months. Our camera found a collapsed clay section choked with roots — so we replaced 40 feet of main, tied in the existing branches and restored full flow in five working days.

The challenge

A collapsed clay main under a paved service alley, with tenants above and a restaurant at street level. Excavation had to be surgical, quiet and fast — with drainage maintained throughout.

Our approach

Camera survey first, then a bypass pump to keep tenants draining. Open-cut replacement in two sections, new PVC main with proper fall, branches reconnected and pressure-tested.

New PVC sewer main installed with correct fall Pressure gauges verifying the new sewer connections

Results & deliverables

  • Collapsed section located on camera, obstruction removed
  • 40 feet of new PVC main with correct fall and bedding
  • All branches reconnected, flow-tested end to end
  • Finished in 5 days at the quoted $6,000 — zero tenant downtime
